Since we are leaving for Texas on or around the 18th of December, we decided not to buy and decorate a real tree like we usually do. But this little 4 foot artificial tree is doing a good job of standing in. It usually resides in the kids' room and displays all of the silly or cartoony ornaments, but this year it is adorned with our most precious and beloved decorations. Since space was tight, we chose only our favorites and packed the rest away for next year. The girls decided on colored lights, which is a departure from our usual all white lights, but a fun change for them. We had lots of fun dressing this little tree up while sipping our spiced cider and jamming to Elvis Presley's "White Christmas" album. We found that we enjoyed it just as much as many years when we have spent $50 or more on a real tree. But we do miss that fresh pine fragrance... (sigh)
Happy Christmas everyone!!
