Well, the most snow we will see here in Fort Irwin anyway. Our home is being transformed into a winter wonderland, inspired by our favorite movie these days, Elf. (If you haven't seen this great Christmas movie, we highly recommend it. Even if you are not a Will Ferrell fan, you should enjoy this family film!) The girls have been very busy cutting paper snowflakes and decorating the windows and anything else they can attach a snowflake to. It is looking very much like the North Pole (or Gimbel's department store at least!)
If you would like to make some paper snowflakes of your own, there are some great instructions here and here. We like the 6 sided designs, because real snowflakes are usually formed this way. You can read more about the shape of a snowflake here, and see some fabulous pictures of real snowflakes taken by the very talented Wilson "Snowflake" Bentley here.
This cartoon has absolutely nothing to do with paper snowflakes, but it made me laugh so here it is.
I should have checked here sooner - I wanted to decorate my office window with snow flakes but they weren't coming out as nice as I wanted. This would have done the trick. Love the blog by the way!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas.
Love to all,
