blankets, blankets everywhere!

I AM FINISHED! With the second blanket this month- now THAT is some knitting I tell you. (can someone remind me not to do that again though?) This will be in the mail by Thursday on it's way to Oklahoma for Baby Brock. :)

The colors are a bit funky in these pictures, but that's what happens when you finish something at 10:30 pm and can't wait for daylight to photograph it! The blanket will probably lay a little nicer once it's washed too- some of the squares are not laying flat and nice in the pictures.

Now I can move on to some smaller projects for the baby- which will seem quick and easy in comparison, and the yarn for the next big project is on it's way (had to be back-ordered). The color is called Cranberry Relish (at right), and the yarn is Plymouth Encore, which is a wool & acrylic blend. I'll be knitting the Babywearer Poncho from Little Turtle Knits for me & the baby, only I think I'll make some modifications to it so that it will be more similar to the Mamaponcho. I like the longer, angled look of it better than the flat edged bottom, especially with my height. Hopefully that will be completed in time for the cooler weather! It should be the perfect thing to work on while I am recouperating after the birth. It was still well over 100 degrees here today, so I don't think I'll be needing it anytime too soon!

And if that is not enough to keep me busy, there are the Halloween costumes to sew (only have to do 2 this year- getting to recycle one- woohoo!) and of course, Christmas is just around the corner...

  1. That is fabulous!!!!! I love it...the picture looks like it belongs in a modern art gallery.

You costumes last year inspired me to do some dreaming. Charlotte wants to be a dinosaur...and Peter would likely love to be Thomas the train or sir topham hat. But we'll see. What are you doing this year?

  2. We are re-using the Dorothy costume I made for Daisy a few years back (Hazel will wear it this time) and Daisy is going to be Glinda the Good Witch, with Stella rounding out the crew as a Munchkin :D Don't think I'll bother with dressing the baby up this year ;)
