she did it!
And of course I didn't have my camera with me :( but we went out tonight for Hazel to practice riding her bike and it finally clicked! It was long overdue as we just never have a great place to practice (we keep living on a busy street or a big hill, and now a court with no straight/flat areas), but we went to a nearby grassy field with a slope on one side, and Jason had her practice riding down the slope with her feet out, just rolling to get the balance part down. She was doing that really well after just a few tries, and then moved to putting her feet on the pedals but just coasting down. After she got that they moved to a nearby basketball court and within minutes she was pedaling along in circles by herself! The first time he let go was so great- he was still running alongside and didn't tell her he wasn't holding on anymore. She did almost a whole circle by herself before she realized. There is still some practicing ahead, she is great at stopping but not so great at getting started, and she likes to turn circles to the left but not to the right :) but she will have those things down in no time. We are SO PROUD of her!! Way to go Hazel!!
