we're off to see the wizard...

The theme this year was of course, the Wizard of Oz. We had the Dorothy costume for Hazel already from several years ago when I made it for Daisy to wear, and this year I made the Glinda costume for Daisy and the Munchkin one for Stella. We ended up right down to the wire again even though I had the dresses sewn before Lyle was born, because the embellishments and accessories were so detailed. But we made it, and everyone looked great! Daisy and Stella both got first prize in their age groups at the costume contest, and they all got LOTS of attention while they were trick-or-treating. They had a blast and got waaaaay too much candy of course. But Jason & I are helping out with that as much as possible ;)

  1. (Followed the link from AngoraKnitter's costume post- I can see why she was so inspired) *Love* the costumes!!! Soo cute, and very detailed... They look perfect!! (Lucky girls... I got cool handmade costumes growing up and I felt so lucky- it's so much more exciting than the costume-in-a-bag. {Which is what my son got this year}) :) Those are great pics too.

  4. talking about beautiful!! ur girls just are so wonderful. i'm sorry to not see them growing up. i still think of hazel as when i first met her at precious moments when her and o were a pair. it really makes me realize how big they r getting. and it's still halarious. stella and viva still look like they could be related.
