Daisy made cookies yesterday. She looked through the recipes and picked one out, and did all the measuring and baking herself. She did a great job!! And the cookies are wonderful.
Snickerdoodles
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup shortening
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cups flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 Tb. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix thoroughly the butter, shortening, 1 1/2 cup sugar and eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.
Mix 2 Tb. sugar and the cinnamon, and roll dough balls in mixture to coat. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8-10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove and place on cooling rack.
Makes approx. 6 dozen (unless you like them big like we do! Then we get 3-4 dozen)
yumyy! she is following in her moms footsteps :-)
ReplyDeleteDaisy, they look very yummy! I don't think I have had snickerdoodles for a very long time. Maybe we can bake some together when we come to visit in March! Love you, Grandma
