In the sewing arena, I finished up my birthday gifts for March- YES! If I can stay on top of things like this then we will be in excellent shape (and everyone in the immediate family can actually expect a gift somewhere near their birthdays this year LOL).
For March I did this reversible mama tote and a set of bean bags with a little storage bag for a friend and her little boy, who both have birthdays in the next few weeks. They turned out really cute and were basically free to make (fabric scraps from the stash and a few pounds of dried navy beans).
In birthday week news, Hazel is anxiously awaiting her 8th birthday on Friday. When we called to see if her friend Courtney could come spend the night on Friday, we found out they were leaving Friday morning (we knew they were moving but didn't know the date).
So we quickly changed plans around and had an overnight pre-birthday celebration yesterday, complete with homemade cake and ice cream. It was a lot of fun and the girls were thrilled to spend some time together before being separated.
Hazel will miss Courtney very much :(
We also went BACK to the Social Security Office in Barstow today, and this time we were successful in applying for Lyle's number and card. (The last time I did not have the right paperwork, blah blah blah). So now we wait for the card in the mail and then we can file our taxes, including our claim for the 4th child YESSSSSSSS. So. It is nearly midnight, and the house is mostly put back in order after the
My mini-project for tomorrow: make a new ironing board cover. I was going to buy one but I think I can make a way better one. One that is sturdy enough to hold up to washing. And remember I said I have a big sewing project coming up? Well it will involve a lot of ironing I'm sure. So this needs to be done and soon. I'll post pictures of my new ironing board cover (or miserable attempt at one) tomorrow night.
I'll miss the twins as well.
