Blocks #5 & 6 completed. One fourth of the way finished already! I now have enough blocks to make one panel. I will, of course, rearrange them a million times before I seam them together, but this gives me an idea of how it will look. Exciting!
I'm having such a hard time with this. I started it 3 times, maybe 5 times. I am frustrated. I keep getting extra stitches so I assume I am knitting the wrapped stitches wrong. Wah? Oh and what modifications did you make? Forgive e for asking, but I've read the MDC thread numerous twice and cannot bear to slog through it again at the moment. (Oh and thanks for that. I will need to pour (pore) over it again and put the pedal to the metal and get one of these accomplished I really want to knit this. aargh. Love your blog. Daily read!
Dude, I started my first block a number of times too before I "got" it. Which is really crazy, because it's not that hard- just confusing at first. Once you get it down, you'll be cruising right along. I stopped looking at the pattern on my 3rd block. So it's not too bad at all.
As far as modifications go, I am not purling any or the rows except the one with short rows in it. So where it says to knit in stockinette, I just knit and get those garter stitch ridges. Make sense? And in regards to knitting the wrapped stitches- that too has been very easy for me once I "got" it. Let me see if I can find a link that lays it out the way I am doing it. Otherwise I'll PM you some details and pics if I need to.
yummy! You guys are so making me want to knit this... Maybe I'll start after Easter? Can U tell me how to do the garter ridges? I prefer that to the flat stockinette.
