We seem to have several varieties of hummingbirds, although we have not looked that up yet. The kids have really enjoyed watching them though- sometimes there are 3 or 4 at a time. It's great fun to watch.

We have had a steady stream of hummingbirds ever since we hung the feeder. It is so much fun to watch! We have had a lot of purple finches too- but they seem to be sharing pretty well and the hummingbirds are not too scared. We are trying to keep fruit out on our regular bird feeder to attract the finches away from this feeder. Here are a few pictures I managed to get of our winged friends!

I never thought they'd come out all this way...that's great!
ReplyDeleteOh we have tons of them here! You guys should get a feeder- the kids would love it! We already had ours but I bet the Garden Center has some. I am actually going to go looking for one (or two) without a perch, to keep the finches off and also so we can watch the hummingbirds hover while they feed. They are so pretty that way!
