Daisy and I have been out 3 nights in a row this week for a walk. She is able to walk fast enough so I can actually get some exercise (unlike some of my other children!), and she is great help with the recycling effort as well. Our walks are serving several purposes: we get some exercise and fresh air, we are cleaning up the neighborhood, we are making money (MAN am I going to miss that CRV deposit on beverage containers when we leave here!), and we are getting to spend a bit of time together too.In 30-40 minutes, we can each collect a bag full of cans and bottles like Daisy is holding in the picture. That adds up quick! I'm off to town tomorrow for a dentist appointment, so I'll go by and turn in the recycling. It's like picking money up off the ground!

ReplyDeleteIt's actually quite sad that we can collect that many in such a short amount of time. It's really a shame that so many people care so little about our earth, to just toss beverage containers and other trash on the ground :(
