my new best friend

We haven't met yet, but I am quite sure that we will be very, very close. She will be arriving on Tuesday by UPS. So that gives me a few days to contemplate names for her. I decided I wanted to do this after seeing Kirsten tossing around names for her new camera. Sounds like the perfect way to start off a new photographic relationship, don't you think?

Also in the category of Things I Plan To Do With My Best Friend: the second installment of A Year of Color begins next week, and I plan to participate as much as I can. This is a project in which a color combination (such as green and pink) will be named each week, and participants submit up to 4 photos that fit the color scheme. I look forward to using this as an extra motivation to take interesting pictures and to notice the small details of the world around me. I'll be blogging the pictures as well as entering them on the Flickr group, so watch this space!
