belated blogoversary

Saturday saw three years of the online documentation of our daily life here on the blog. I had a few grand ideas about cool photo collages or other celebratory images, but the reality has been that not only am I a procrastinator but also forgetful. So here is a picture of me & the kids, taken the other day with the laptop camera, just because. They are really the reason I am here, the reason this blog is here. So there they are in all their smiling glory!

In a fit of introspection, I have a few goals I'd like to share regarding this space in the coming year. I've had a major face lift for the blog in mind for some time, and I'd like to see that happen soon (although going back to that little place some folks like to call Reality, that probably will not happen until after the holidays, just because this is the time of year when I like to spread myself so thin you can barely see me anymore- between Halloween costumes and holiday gifts, plus another kid birthday). So watch for a whole new look in early 2009.

I'd also like to shift more toward documenting our life as unschoolers, and all that that entails (or doesn't, as the case may be). I've avoided the subject somewhat because we were still in the stages of trying on a new lifestyle- feeling it out and getting comfortable in it (while also moving across the country and settling into a new home...) But we have embraced unschooling as a family and it is a part of our life that touches everything we do, every day. I'm sure this brings some questions to mind for some of you- so you can get some answers here, or just watch and learn along with us as life unfolds naturally.

Lastly, I want to thank every single one of our readers so much. I appreciate you taking the time to stop in, and the time to leave us a comment now and then. It makes a big difference knowing that there are people out there thinking about us! I'm going to try to be more diligent about answering questions in the comments, and I'm going to try to keep posting about 4 days per week. But I'm also going to allow myself NOT to get stressed out if I don't make that happen every week. Thanks for your understanding and your love and friendship. I am so glad you enjoy the blog, and hope you continue to do so. Here's to another great year at life with girls!
