trucks!

We attended "Touch a Truck Day" on Saturday. Lyle has a huge love for trucks, buses, cars, tractors- anything with wheels pretty much. He was very excited about the fire engine and the city bus, but started to be a little hesitant when we got around the big equipment trucks with moving parts and loud sounds. We had fun checking these out though, and learned a little about a few of them. I think in the next few years this will be something Lyle looks forward to very much!

Here is Hazel trying on a firefighter's helmet, and Lyle looking for buttons to push! Stella was smiling here, but by the time we left she was not very happy. Too much noise and too many people for her.

We were all extremely impressed with the level of shininess on that fire truck. Lyle got brake dust all over his shirt while checking out this tire though :( we will remember that for next time.

Getting on the bus was cool- they had it running so you could feel the vibration and sit inside comfortably. We need to ride the bus more often! Everyone gets such a kick from getting on and finding a seat.

Lyle was ready to drive off in it- I had to get him down because the bus was running and he kept pushing all sorts of buttons.

The girls sat in the bucket of one of the equipment vehicles- but Lyle would have nothing to do with it.

He climbed right up into the cab and honked the horn though!

Stella did NOT like the noise of this truck tilting it's bed up. She was ready to go by this point.

Lyle was pretty overwhelmed too, by the end. He wanted to be held so he could take it all in from a safe vantage point.

When we had seen all the trucks, we watched some people skateboarding at the skate park across the parking lot. The kids all enjoyed that a lot.

The whole day thoroughly wore Lyle out.
