Jason and I went to vote today. We had to tag-team the kids so we could each stand in line, but now we know it is done and we won't be there on Tuesday in a horrific line. If you haven't done so already, go vote this week! Even with it being early, we each still stood in line about 40 minutes, which was not too bad. I knitted and talked to Daisy, who accompanied me. We talked about how she will miss getting to vote in the next presidential election by about 7 months, so she'll have to wait until 2016. They had a lovely sticker just for her when we left the polls though.
And I found these online- I like the peach ones but sure do wish I'd had one of these to wear today!

ReplyDeleteThose stickers are nice, you can't wear any campaign items within like 250 ft of the voting place anyway. I am hoping to go over the ballot with my kids today and act as the 'house rep' and show them why i am voting (as if they haven't heard enough yet!:) Can't wait for the 4th! We can have a president to be proud of! I'm going to have a 'watch party'. I can't believe Daisy would be almost old enough to vote next. that's nuts.

ReplyDeletei remember going to the polls with my mom when i was a kid. in oregon, we do vote by mail, but i'll still be teaching my children the importance of being involved in the democratic process!!
