We had a little excitement here Friday night when a thunderstorm went right over us and lightning struck the power line to our block. The storm came through right at bedtime for Stella and Lyle, but with a few extra snuggles from Mom & Dad they both managed to get to sleep, even with some of the loudest thunder I've heard in a long time.
The Georgia Power guys were here less than an hour before we lost power, and had things back up and running within a few minutes. But about 5 minutes after I took this photo, we heard a very loud POP from outside and the lights went out again. This time it took them longer to get back to us, but we had power back on before 1 am.
This was just the reminder we needed (in addition to the very long outage last month after the snow storm) to get our emergency lighting situation beefed up around here. We need to get a few more wind up flashlights and a couple of oil lamps before this happens again.
that's pretty exciting stuff!!! we had a bad & loud thunder storm last week. not fun for the little ones!
