bella dancerella

Stella has had a new favorite activity recently: Bella Dancerella. It is a video tape in which a pretty ballerina "teaches" you how to ballet dance by telling you where to put your feet on the floor mat. Hazel got it for Christmas a few years back and has since lost all interest in it. But never fear, there is always another girl to take up the cast off activities of the others around here!

Stella is very particular about how she goes about doing the Bella Dancerella video. First, she absolutely requires the red sequined dress. Her favorite time to ask to do this is about 10 minutes after I have gotten her all dressed in some other clothing (surprise). Next, she has to have the black ballet slippers which we have on loan from cousin Ava. And then, depending on her mood, either a fancy dress up crown or the red sequined bow that matches the dress. She has been leaning towards the latter most days, which means I have to put her hair up first because the bow falls out otherwise. So, after 10 or 20 minutes of getting her outfitted and ready, she is finally prepared to actually do the video, which lasts 30 minutes. This all takes place at least once a day.

Have I mentioned that I am not particularly partial to ballerinas, cheerleaders, and other frilly, girly things? I just stand here and accomodate her whim, hoping that she will not choose this as a career path. For now though, she does look pretty cute in that dress. :)
