We eloped at the courthouse in Columbia, SC when we were 19 years old. We didn't have anywhere to live, and looking back- not much of a plan about anything at all, but we were in love! Here is a little sampling from the old photo album for your enjoyment.
Our wedding day! Well, there wasn't much of a wedding- but there was the certificate, the rings, and we even took a picture of each other for posterity. Did the camera have a self timer? Yes. Did we think to use it so we could have a photograph where we were BOTH in the frame at the same time? NO. We must have been too giddy to think straight.
Someone gave us a coupon for a free sitting at Olan Mills. (MawMaw maybe? I can't remember.) This picture just cracks me up. We just look so... weird. I still carry it in my wallet.
It appears that we spent a lot of time taking turns photographing each other. I remember this particular session involved positioning each other in just the right spot so as to conceal the thermostat on the wall directly behind the subject. Apparently the only good spot in the entire apartment to take a picture or something like that. We were some dressers, eh?
We also took a lot of pictures while driving- so sweet. Good thing we never crashed.
We used to do all sorts of glamorous things too- picnicking in the park and ballooning over the city! Ah, the good old days.
I hope the next 13 years bring us many, many more happy memories!
Congratulations! What a great couple! You're truly blessed!
