local breakfast
This morning we ate Red Mule Grits, free range eggs from Canoe Lake Farms, some bacon and toast (from the grocery store!) and a nice cup of Café Choco Andes from 1000 Faces Coffee.
We are so excited to finally be able to order food from the Athens Locally Grown group. In our first order this week- in addition to the grits, eggs, and coffee, we also got tomatoes (ripe for the soup we had for dinner tonight, and green for frying!), honey, green beans, garlic, and some fresh flowers, all from farmers in our area. We plan to order from them regularly and enjoy the local produce and other goodies available, while supporting our local farmers and eating more healthful, fresh foods.
