parade of lights

We had fantastic weather tonight for the holiday parade downtown. It was so much fun! The kids are definitely parade fans now, and Lyle didn't cry about the marching bands this time. An improvement! I carried him facing me in the Ergo so he would feel more secure but still see well. It was a really nice evening, ending with the lighting of a huge tree. The kids were so amazed that it was a real, growing tree!

I guess it's time to break out the holiday music. We've felt so preoccupied and out-of-whack since the move- it doesn't feel like we should be getting ready for Christmas. I'm sure I'll be in rare form with the last-minute preparations this year! (sigh)

  4. Yes I made my hat- but it's been a while, I think I was pregnant with Lyle when I knitted that. The yarn is a single ply, really soft- I *think* 100 Purewool? It was gifted to me and I can't remember for sure. The pattern is from Stitch & Bitch- the one with the big spangles knitted into it in the book- I just left them out though.

Heh- yes we'd like some snow, please!

  5. You have an adorable family. I love their names. (I've been digging through your site since NaBlo is over and done with.)

Did you use slings with all your babies? I'm hoping to 'sling' the twins around. Another reader recommended a Maya wrap. Maybe both babies in one or wearing two mayas at once. Any tips?

  6. Awww...don't ya just love the colder weather? Is that a change from California? The parade looks like so much fun! We've been decorating around here and it's been great!

I finish up classes next week. We're planning to visit Atlanta after that. I'd love to drop by and hang out!
