one last birthday post
Turning 13 is worth several days of posting on your mom's blog, right? :) I just wanted to share a few more pictures, this time from Thursday night when we had cake and presents. Daisy wanted cheesecake instead of traditional birthday cake. It was only my second time making one from scratch, and it turned out pretty well. We had brownies for those who did not want cheesecake.
Daisy had her friend, Bea, over for the evening and a sleepover, and we had homemade chicken noodle soup for dinner. After dinner she opened presents, including a scavenger hunt with 13 clues to find her gift from us- her own laptop computer!
She was beyond thrilled, and the girls happily spent one of the most quiet evenings I have ever witnessed during a sleepover- Daisy, Hazel, and Bea were each on a separate computer- IMing back and forth. For like, hours. It was hilarious! They should develop excellent typing skills, if nothing else.

Wow, how times have changed!! When I turned 13 I got the soundtrack album (yes an actual vinyl album) from the movie Saturday Night Fever. 30 years ago seems like just yesterday for me.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to a beautiful young lady. I enjoy watching you grow up thru this blog. My first memory of you is the same as cousin Alicia's. You were so cute in that dress with the daisies on it at Grandpa's birthday party. I hope you have a great year. Love, cousin Jodi
