A few weeks ago, we were driving out to a campground at the lake to swim with our friends who were camping there. We stopped for lunch and were supposed to grab a bag of ice before we left the closest town to head to the campsite, but I completely forgot until we were back on the road. So I was grumbling about this and exclaimed loudly, "We need some ICE! Where are we going to get some ice?!" I swear- no sooner did these words leave my mouth than I turned my head and saw a large sign with the word "ICE" on it, pointing to a driveway. I pulled in and there was an empty parking lot, with nothing but this big ice machine trailer sitting there. I proceeded to feed $1.50 into it and a huge bag of ice came shooting down a slide, waiting for me to close it up with one of the twist ties provided. It was so strange and hilarious- when I opened the van door the kids were all yelling about how cool that was when the ice bag came down the chute. And how crazy that this ice machine was just sitting here waiting for us, in the middle of nowhere (well, actually just outside of Hartwell, GA) It sure did help not having to turn around and go back into town, and it was a great deal too. The whole thing felt a little like finding the Room of Requirement, popping up right when I said I needed it and all. There is magic in this world, after all. Even if it comes in the form of a bag of ice.
