finding sleep
After over a year and a half of (blissfully) nursing to sleep for every nap and every bedtime, Lyle is starting to explore finding sleep on his own. He is getting down from my lap some days, still awake, and seeking out his own space in which to fall asleep. Sometimes it is the bed, last night it was the living room floor with his book. It is bittersweet to watch him growing more independent- knowing that all too soon he will need me for less and less.
He is finding his own rhythm, his own routine. He is figuring out what he likes and what makes him feel comfortable and secure. He is learning that he is safe to fall asleep wherever he is comfortable and whenever he is tired, and we will be there when he wakes up.

There's nothing sweeter than a sleeping child! He's growing up so fast - hard to believe he will soon be 2. Love you, Grandma
