birthday date with daddy
Last night was Stella's first date with her daddy. She has been waiting and talking about it for so long!
Stella got this new dress from Grammy & Pops just in time for her big day, and we happened to have the sliver shoes in our dress up wardrobe. Perfect!
Jason brought her a big balloon bouquet but she was much more excited about the little bunch of flowers he picked up at the last minute. I guess she has seen her sisters getting flowers for years now and she was really looking forward to that part of this tradition. She insisted on having some to carry with her to the restaurant, so I tied them up with a ribbon and removed all the leaves for her. She was so happy about those flowers!
They went to Carrabba's and she got chicken fingers. They topped that off with a trip to Dairy Queen and then the pet shop, just to walk around and look at the animals. They had a really great time. Jason gave her a little wooden box he picked out, with a few special treasures inside. Stella is ALL ABOUT treasures.
I still can't believe she is five years old.

ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea and I'm sure Stella had a blast on her date! Happy Birthday Stella!!!
ReplyDeletekaden & i are wondering... can kids ride in the front once they turn 5?
ReplyDeleteActually, now that you mentioned it I looked and in Georgia anyway, kids under 6 are only supposed to be in a front seat if there is no back seat available (such as in a pickup truck with no back seat) or if all the seats are taken up by other children. In this case, there is a rear seat and she really should have been back there. She usually doesn't even ride in the truck, so I didn't even think of it when we moved her booster.
ReplyDeleteI looked, and currently a child does not have to sit in the back seat by law in Oklahoma, but it is of course the safest place. With the exception of a few special circumstances (like the daddy dates), we have only just begun allowing daisy to ride in the front seat on a regular basis, and she is 13!
That looks like so much fun. Stella looks like a little lady. Wow, 5!!! I really miss you guys. Love you all. Stella's gift is coming soon.
ReplyDeleteStella looks so precious!
ReplyDeleteThe flowers are so pretty. She looks a lot like her dad. I'm sure they had a fantastic day!
