...these baby wipes were 2 baby terry towels, 3 flannel receiving blankets, and a flannel dress that never fit the girls right. I tossed in a half yard of brand new flannel too, just because I had it.
The terry towels were thrifted here on Fort Irwin (on free day!) and I dyed them different colors to brighten things up a bit. Once I got all the fabric cut into 8 1/2 inch squares with my trusty rotary cutter, I enlisted the help of the girls to get these made up. Hazel did some of the pinning, Daisy did almost all of the trimming and turned them right side out so I could finish them, and Stella helped me fold them once they came out of the wash. They will soon be on their way to Minnesota for my friend Eryn who had little baby Clara in December and who is a fellow cloth diaper user (thus the cloth baby wipes!)
This is one more project off my sewing table and one more project using recycled materials (my favorite!)
Those are gorgeous...oh the wellness center is giving things away for free today...suppose to be children's clothing and such...is the thrift store open again yet?
ReplyDeleteThey aren't open yet as far as I know, but I haven't actually gone over there or checked. It has been over 2 weeks so maybe they are. The whole thing was really weird. The Wellness Center, eh? Too bad everyone is still lingering sickly or I'd go check it out. :)
