cast iron



This weekend I began the process of seasoning a new set of cast iron pans. The last Teflon pan I will ever own is in the trash bin now. Good riddance!

So, we had sausage on our biscuits this morning and BLT's for lunch. Normally we do not partake in such fatty foods on a regular basis (or at least not in the same day!) but they are a great way to get a nice seasoning going on new cast iron. Hopefully these pans will be around much longer than I am and the girls can pass them down to future generations. But for now, my goal is just to cook eggs in a naturally non-stick pan. Ahhhhh.

  1. i've always wanted to try cast iron. we need new pans too...perhaps i'll look in to that. your meals sound delish :-P
