i hate rotations

Also known as: Sunday was not a good day.

A "Rotation" here on Fort Irwin is the monthly influx of soldiers who come here to train for wartime operations, and then leave again. A whole bunch of them come every month, are here for a few weeks, and then we have a week or so of peace (including a 4 day weekend every month) before the next rotation starts.

I won't go into the boring details (or pretend to know and understand them either), but the rotation this month sucks. Jason has been in to work early, not coming home for lunch, and home late. He worked over 12 hours Saturday and Sunday. Needless to say, he is very tired when he finally does get home. As am I.

We all get edgy when it gets like this. The kids miss their dad, they get sick of me, and they start to get crabby. I miss him too- not only because I love having him around but also because him being here means I can get a freakin' BREAK once in a while. And let's not forget that he does ALL the dishes too, ladies and gentlemen. But not when it gets like this. And he absolutely shouldn't- I do not expect it at all. But it does add to my work load and therefore my crabbiness as well.

So, Happy Monday everyone. I hope mine is better than Sunday was- although we have nowhere to go but up when we are at rock bottom, right?

  1. Man that sucks, big time. You should have called, maybe a vent would have made you feel better. (((hugs))) Only 107 days left ;-)
