I'm going to try and get through some of the details and pictures from our trip over the next week or so, by breaking it up into each of our stops. We'll see how well it works- bear with me. We packed a LOT of stuff into 12 days! And I am struggling to make overdue upgrades to our computer, which is making the photo part take a lot longer than it needs to. Loads of fun. Anyway...
We left here around 4:30 Thursday morning, and arrived at Yosemite NP with plenty of time to set up camp before dinner. We quickly found that our little site was covered in a very fine, dusty dirt that was comparable to fireplace ash. Hazel and Stella proceeded to get very, very dirty, and poor Lyle was confined to the playpen or the back pack because there was no grass or anything remotely clean for him to crawl around on. We had fun though, and after a good night's sleep we explored the park. There was much creek playing fun and some spectacular views. We had a little scare when Jason's wallet went missing for a half hour or so, but it turned out to have been misplaced only and all was well with the world again. The temperatures were quite brisk in the mornings and Jason and I woke up with sore hips from the hard ground (are we that much older than the last time we went camping?!)
Here is a cool little Pictobrowser, so you can glance through the virtual ton of photos we took. We were still playing around with Sally and probably took more than we might have otherwise. Enjoy!
Edited to add: If you prefer, you can go to my Yosemite photoset on Flickr, to see all the thumbnails on one page or view the images as a slideshow (link in upper right corner). There are a lot of them, so you might want to speed it up so it won't take forever.
Fantastic! Sally seems to be working fine--the pictures are great--but I couldn't save these pictures to my computer--any idea why? I have copied all your previous pictures. I love you all today! Pops
ReplyDeleteThat picture bar is cool! Looks like you managed to find a wee bit of grass adventually. There's no grass in big bear either. All I did for two and a half days was wipe down the kids...There's dirt in our socks, shirt, and shorts that will never come out I fear.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update.
