finally finished!
Almost exactly a year and a half after I started, my first pair of knitted socks are now complete. Not too bad, considering I gave birth to kid #4 and moved across the country during that time.
They are not perfect, but I think they are really great for my first try. They even fit my big ol' feet! They look and feel great with my new Birks, and they keep my feet nice and warm.
The yarn is Koigu, in color #P513, and the pattern is the Simple Sock from Cat Bordhi's Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles.
I really needed to be working on holiday projects, but these were getting so close, so I finished them up. I am in LOVE! And I think once we get past the busy rush of December, I am going to settle into carrying a sock in my bag at all times to work on during any spare moments I get. Hopefully during 2008 I can get several more pair finished!
OH! I nearly forgot- I just want to say a huge THANK YOU to my friend Linnea for giving me this lovely yarn and book waaaaaaaaay back when we were pregnant with Lyle and Toby! I thought about you and your family so much while knitting these, and will continue to do so whenever I wear them too. Much love to you!!

ReplyDeleteYAY! Jennifer, those look GREAT! The colors are so YOU and they look like they fit just perfectly! I am excited for your first hand-knitted socks. Once all the holiday crafting is done, I'm going to start working on a pair Just For Me, too! I'm so glad you enjoyed knitting them - may they keep your feet, and heart, warm for a very long time!
