eggs

We were fortunate enough (through a small ordering mix-up) to receive 6 dozen eggs from our co-op this week! The biggest problem was finding room in our tiny fridge, but now we are just enjoying the bounty that is our egg stash! The picture is a batch I boiled up this morning, which will last us a few days for egg salad sandwiches, deviled eggs, and just eating them whole. These days finding a protein source that Hazel will eat is a bit tricky, so I'm keeping these on hand and ready since she is agreeable to them (for now- her tastes seem to change like the wind.) We will also be mixing up a batch or two of egg nog this week and maybe doing some baking, as well as mixing up some homemade custard ice cream. I'm pretty sure come Sunday I'll be placing an order for more when the co-op opens up again.

We need to get our own chickens.

  2. If it isn't a secret, I'd love to try your homemade ice cream recipe we talked about the other week. Denise (californiasmc) told me it is some killer ice cream. :-) I'll see if your number's still and my phone . . .
